Welcome to Boyette Animal Hospital

Traffic Safety:

There have been a couple of serious car accidents near our entrance on Boyette Rd. The ridiculous speeds that people drive on that stretch of Boyette, combined with the very annoying U-turn diversion that drivers must now take to get to the Post Office, have made our entrance intersection pretty scary. When you are leaving our office and must make a left turn onto Boyette, please consider turning right and making a U-turn just 100 yards down the road. Also, don’t forget there is a back exit from our office that will get you to Hwy 301 northbound a little more safely.

Learn Who We Are

  • Dr Sarah Trimble
    Dr. Sarah Trimble

Dr. Sarah Trimble, born and raised in Tampa Bay, grew up wanting nothing more than to be a veterinarian. Helping others, including those that can’t speak for themselves, has always been a passion of hers. She was first introduced to Boyette Animal Hospital as a kennel technician while completing her undergraduate studies. After marrying her high school sweetheart, she moved to Cumberland Gap, Tennessee and completed her doctorate at Lincoln Memorial University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. It wasn’t long before she returned to her home clinic to work with the Boyette Animal Hospital family as a veterinarian. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, strengthening the human animal bond, and preventative medicine. She loves connecting with families while working together to care for their furry companions.

On her days off, she proudly wears her favorite title of “Mom” to a sweet little boy. She also has two dogs and a cat of her own, all rescued during her time in Tennessee.

    Dr Sherri Zuccaro

Dr. Sherri Zuccaro is a native Floridian, born and raised in Naples. She has always had an affinity for animals, and her interest in science naturally led to her lifelong pursuit and dream of becoming a veterinarian. Dr. Zuccaro is a proud double Gator, earning both her undergraduate Animal Sciences degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida. Following graduation, she knew she wanted to stay in Florida to avoid northern snow and continue to enjoy West Coast sunsets, which led to her relocation to the Tampa Bay area. In her free time, she loves to cook, travel, read, and go on hiking adventures with her dog, Teddy.

    Dr. Audrey Guida

Dr. Audrey Guida grew up in Rochester, NY. Her love of animals started as early as she could remember, because she grew up with three Labrador Retrievers (one of each color!) named Lola, Lenny, and Leo. She always wanted to become a veterinarian and that’s what she did! She started volunteering at zoos and working at an animal hospital as a kennel assistant to gain experience. Dr. Guida is a proud Purdue University grad (BOILER UP!!!) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Sciences. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and completed her clinical year of training at University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine.
After being in the warmth for 4 years she decided to stay away from the snow and moved to Tampa with her island pup Eli and rescue kitty Lance. Dr. Guida practiced for 4 years in Wesley Chapel before joining Boyette Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian. Her special interests include general surgery and preventative care/client education.

In her free time, Dr. Guida enjoys riding the coasters at local theme parks and having a Butterbeer (or two). She loves to read, visiting friends in St. Petersburg, and going to the theater to see new movies.

    Dr. Courtney Pellerin

Dr. Courtney Pellerin grew up near New Orleans, LA. Ask anyone in her family and they’ll tell you that her love for animals started when she dressed up as a veterinarian for career day in 1st grade. Since that day, she has spent her time working with multiple animal rescues, volunteering at the local aquarium, and even traveling to Australia to study wildlife conservation. She is a proud Auburn University grad (WAR EAGLE!!) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology with a minor in Animal Science. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 2019. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include ultrasonography, cardiology, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and preventative care/client education.

Dr. Pellerin and her husband moved to the Tampa area with a furbaby of their own, a lab/blue heeler mix named Calypso. She was rescued while Dr. Pellerin was in vet school performing relief work during a flood in Baton Rouge, LA. Dr. Pellerin enjoys spending her free time cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning (GO BOLTS!), heading to Disney World for the weekend, hitting up local breweries and boating around the bay area.

    Dr. Bob Encinosa

I was born and raised in Valrico, Florida and my family roots in Florida extend back to late 1800’s. I first remember wanting to be a veterinarian in 4th grade. I was strongly influenced by the memory of the farm vets who came to treat our livestock. I have always had a love of science and a soft spot for animals.

I graduated from Brandon High School in 1980 and received my doctorate from UF College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. On November 5th, 1990, I founded Boyette Animal Hospital. Our first facility was a 900 square foot “hole in the wall” in the Winn Dixie shopping center. 8 years later we moved to our current facility.

    Dr. Lorraine Ellwood

Veterinary medicine is not just a job, it is a passion for Dr. Lorraine Ellwood.  Even at a young age she had a love of science and animals.  She was the daughter of a naval officer and lived all over the United States and one year in Paris, France.  She grew up with dogs, cats, birds and small mammals.  She spent many summers with her grandparents in the Catskill Mountains of New York, where she was exposed to horses, farm animals and wildlife.  One summer she converted part of the barn into a small hospital for sick farm cats and injured wildlife.  After high school she attended The Ohio State University, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in science education and her Master’s of Science degree in physiology.  Lorraine spent the next four years studying veterinary medicine at The Ohio State University, graduating cum laude in 1980.

He was chosen twice to help care for the Queen's swans in the United Kingdom, and pioneered the use of botulism vaccinations in the swan population.  He is the author of the first book on the care and feeding of captive swans.

    Dr. Luke Viramontes

Originally from New York, I grew up in the Tampa area before moving to Gainesville, FL. As a kid, I knew I had an interest in science and realized I loved animals more than many of my friends at that age. I attended the University of Florida for undergraduate and veterinary school - my favorite colors are orange and blue and I am a die-hard Gators fan (GO GATORS!!!!!!!) While in college, I began shadowing and volunteering that paved the way to where I am now and haven't seen myself being in any other career. After graduating veterinary school in 2018, I lived in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area prior to returning to Tampa.

    Dr. Matt Encinosa

Born and raised in Riverview, Florida, Matt had always had an interest in science. Throughout high school he had aspirations of becoming a pediatrician but those changed as he attended the University of South Florida and began working as a kennel technician right here at Boyette Animal Hospital. He realized his love for animals, their owners, and the bond they share.

Matt graduated from the University of South Florida in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and started veterinary school at Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!). Since then he has returned to his hometown to start his dream job.

Testimonials

Read What Our Clients Say

  • I can't express how Thankful I am for the Doctors and staff here. I brought my chihuahua "son" in yesterday for a check up after being attacked by a neighbors large dog earlier in the week. As usual, we both were treated with great care and concern as I also was a bit emotional. This is a place were the staff Truly care about animals/pets. I wouldn't take my fur babies Anywhere else and have referred my friends multiple times.
